Updates!
Noah is doing more and more every day! It is so amazing to watch him grow and learn new things. We are so truly blessed! He's started blowing kisses lately....just every once in a while....and it is too adorable. He also LOVES throwing balls....but he gets that honest from his daddy and uncles. We're not sure about handedness yet, but it seems like every time we hand him a ball (even when he takes it in his right hand) he passes it to his left and immediately throws it. We may have a little "southpaw" on our hands! :)
Although we love to have free time, it seems like the next few weeks will be very busy for us! Here's an itinerary in case you need to find us!
* September 4th: Dave Barnes concert! (It's time for a night out for us parents....we are so excited....Nick has never seen Dave Barnes in concert and Dawn hasn't in years! It should be so fun! The concert is at Southeast Christian Church - call and get tickets if you're interested!)
* September 5th: Kentucky Football game here in Cincy! Tailgating with Nick's family, then heading to Madison for a gathering to welcome David Rosser back to town! It will be so fun!
* September 6th: The Alcorn Cup! Nick is looking forward to this, while Dawn and Noah will be out at Gramma and Grandpa Smith's hanging around the farm!
* September 7th: Noah is getting pictures taken! We're praying for no rain....
* September 10th: Probable Team meeting with my Fam Med in patient team! YAY!
* September 12th: NOAH's FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!!! We are SOOOO excited to celebrate with our little man!!!! :)
* September 18th-20th: Trip to Indy (hopefully) with a possible Kenny Chesney/Montgomery Gentry concert and Noah's first trip to Butler!! :)
* Septermber 26th: Nick's 10 year High School Reunion! (Yes, it's been that long....haha)
* October 3rd: Kentucky v. Alabama Football game! And possible night out for Momma and Dadda if the TBD game is early enough thanks to Janelle! :)
It's a lot, and it keeps us very busy....but we wouldn't know what to do with free-time.... or would we??? We actually took advantage of a "reading day" that occurred due to a scheduling error at the hospital and Nick and Dawn decided to take Noah to a Coach Calipari book signing at Borders and then a fun/exhausting day at the zoo!! Noah's first trip to the zoo was great and he had a really good time, but Momma and Dadda were very worn out by the time we got home....it was definitely worth it though! And it was spontaneous, which is exactly how we like it! :)
- of course there was reading/preparing for rotations done on this day, too (hence "reading day")
- at the book signing!
- it's an ELEPHANT!
- and a GIRAFFE!
- and a RHINO!
Enjoy the pics! More to come very soon! (Much sooner than last time, hopefully!)

A LOT of catching up....
*Big stuff first:
- We have officially moved back closer to home! Praise the Lord for getting us back closer to our family and friends! We feel so extremely blessed for everything to have worked out so wonderfully.
- We bought a house in Hebron, KY. We love it so far!
- Dawn is officially a 3rd year med student! Our lives are pretty busy, but we're managing pretty well so far....
- Daddy and Noah went to the Florence Aquatic Center while Mommy was studying for boards.....Noah loved it!
*Noah stuff:
- Noah is almost 11 months old! He's getting so big, and is so very active and curious....It is so amazing to see all the things he's learning to do and say. We are so blessed to have this sweet baby!
- Noah has had a lot of firsts over the past couple of weeks.
--> Noah has been to his first Reds game (and also his first Rays game - while we were in Tampa)
--> He's been on his first plane
--> He's seen the beach/ocean for the first time
-->While at the ocean, Noah cut his first tooth! (yeah, his mommy and daddy got their first tooth a little later than others too....)
-->Noah went to his very first sheep show
-->He's been to two family reunions (one on each side of the family)
-->He's been LOVING table food....we gave him just a little on vacation, and he's been signing "more" for it ever since! :)
Noah's first sheep show! Uncle Deron's last year in 4H.
- Noah at his first Reds game!
- Noah and Daddy at the Aquarium in Newport checking out the sharks!
*Other info:
- Dawn is finished with Boards (Step 1)!!! Well, for now....more to come, but it feels nice to not have something to worry about studying ALL the time....
- Dawn's rotations are going well. She had her first night on call last night and it went pretty well. Things are very busy, but she's learning a lot.
- Nick is currently staying home with Noah. Even though he'd like to find a job very soon, it's been nice to have this transition time for Noah after moving and a very busy couple of weeks. It's good for him to have Nick at home with him, even if it is just for a couple of weeks. Nick's been able to work on some logos lately, so that's been very good.
- And finallly....Noah is going to have a cousin in a few months! We are so excited for Jonathan and Bethany and cannot wait to meet the newest Meacham! (We're also glad they told everyone so we can celebrate God's blessings with all of you!)

Happy Father's Day, Honey!!
Now for today's post....a tribute to our fathers, especially the most important father in my life....my husband.
I thought the best thing to do would be to share some amazing pictures of some of my favorite "father-son" moments....so here they are! :)

Closer and closer!
Starting from the beginning.
October 2006: Dawn is accepted into Pikeville College of Osteopathic Medicine! Yay!
December 2006: Nick begins working at Pikeville Medical Center.
March 10, 2007: Nick and Dawn become husband and wife! "you may now kiss the bride!" :)
July 2007: First year of medical school begins (and with that, what seems like the longest two years of our lives....)
January 2008: Nick and Dawn find out they are about to become a family of 3!! Yay!!
April 8, 2008: Dawn cuts her finger trying to separate pork chops with a butter knife... :(
April 12, 2008: Nick and Dawn are in an accident (caused by a man in a high speed police chase who had just killed someone for drugs.) Everyone is okay, but Dawn gets an ambulance ride and an ultrasound just in case. (The Ford Escape, however is not-so-okay and is taken to the Ford Dealership for some front passenger side body work.... and no the murderer did not have insurance and yes we paid our $500 deductable) Wow....AND we missed Brian and Jessica's wedding (and so did half the guests who were unfortunate enough to be behind us on our way from Pikeville to Whitesburg.)
April 17, 2008: Dawn has her cut tendon repaired in Lexington while NOT under general anesthesia (just a local...the axillary block missed too!)
June 2008: First Year of Medical School officially over!!
August 2008: Second Year of Medical School begins!
September 12, 2008: Noah is born!!!! Such a blessing!!!! God is so good!!!!
March 2009: We find out we will be moving closer to home for rotations! Christ Hospital here we come!!
May 2009: We decide to buy a house in Hebron, KY! We love it!
June 2009: Second Year is over, but boards are coming up in July....pray for good scores!!!! :)
That pretty much sums up the past 2 years (in a nutshell) and we are so thankful and blessed to be where we are right now. We are so excited to be moving up closer to our family and friends and can't wait to start this new chapter in our lives!
A picture of Noah to end this post.... ENJOY!

Great is Thy Faithfulness!!
Wow, it has been SO long since our last post....things have been so busy down here in Pikeville the past few months! Updating on EVERYTHING may be tough, but we'll do the best we can. Now for the info....
Noah is getting so big! He amazes me everyday with his little personality coming out more and more. He's started trying to crawl....it's pretty much a work-in-progress.... :) He's very good at getting up on his knees and rocking back and forth, but he still hasn't quite gotten the concept of moving his hands at the same time....haha. His facial expressions are priceless! He has a "concentrating" face that we talk about, where he pushes his lips out and furrows his eyebrows when he's really trying to reach or figure out a toy. Too funny! Noah LOVES outside! We are so glad, too, because Mommy and Daddy also love outside. We went on a trip to the Breaks Interstate Park in Virginia with Uncle Jonathan and Auntie Bethany, and Noah had a wonderful time in the Baby Bjorn. When we let him walk through the house holding onto our fingers, the door is the first place he goes to try to get outside. Hopefully that continues as he gets older! Noah hasn't gotten any teeth yet and he's been teething for 4 months! He's a little trooper though, and drools EVERYWHERE! He tries to put anything and everything in his mouth....not just to explore, but mostly to BITE! We are so happy and blessed to have this little guy in our lives! He is amazing!
Onto medical school news! Second year is almost over! Our last block exam is next Wednesday (pray that goes well!) and then Step 1 boards are in July (pray that goes well, too!) Woohoo! Rotations are just around the corner.
Onto our big move to Cincinnati! We bought our first house this week! We love it and we are so excited to move in. It has a big backyard and a deck for lots of outside time that we are so excited about! More importantly, we cannot wait to be closer to our family and friends back home. We miss everyone so much!
Anyway, that's the short version update of the past few months. Once we have more time (i.e. less class, less studying and less driving/moving related time constraints) we will try to do a much better job of updating this blog.

FINALLY....a new post!
Hey Everyone!
Wow, it's crazy how long it's been since our last post.... Med School and a new baby is just too much to keep a blog up on a day to day (i mean month to month) basis! Anyway, to catch everyone up on things happening in the Meacham household would probably take a few days, but since I'm trying to procrastinate (just a little) from studying, here's a quick overview.
Nick went back to work on December 1st. I could tell it was tough for him that first day, but he was a trooper (I did bring Noah by the office before the end of the day, however.) We found a great Nanny for Noah (her name is Lisa and she's the wife of a fellow classmate.) She is wonderful with Noah and we really appreciate her help.
Noah celebrated his first Thanksgiving! He was so good about all the holding....I think somehow deep down he understands how many people miss him and love him and just really want to hold him when we get to go back home. We enjoyed 4 Thanksgivings and we're still trying to work off all that yummy food!
Now for an update on Noah. He is getting so big! He can really hold his head up now. We've been giving him a little time in his bumbo almost everyday and he LOVES it. It's so funny how independent he tries to be sometimes.
We put up the Christmas tree with Noah a couple of weeks ago. He was so fascinated with the lights....it was adorable. Noah just sat in his bouncer the whole time just watching us decorate. What a sweet baby!
Noah had his first rice cereal on his 3 month birthday! He did not care for the spoon and sort of gave us a "What's with this hard stick?" look. It was cute. I totally understand why the pediatrician recommends starting cereal once a day or once every couple of days at 3 months....maybe by the time Noah is ready for baby food all the time he will actually like the spoon....
Noah now refuses to lay back when he's sitting on our laps. He insists on either standing or sitting up by holding on to our fingers....it is SO cute!
My last blocks are December 19th and we will be back in the Madison/La Grange area for Christmas Eve to the Sunday after....so it should be great! We are so excited for Noah's First Christmas!
Okay, that is a brief catch up....after blocks I will try to keep the blog a little more caught up....or as caught up as possible.
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
